May 28, 2021 cabana update

Opening Memorial Weekend!

Happy Memorial Weekend!  The day is coming for us to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  The improved covid-19 conditions of our county will allow us to again celebrate this holiday at our cabana as we have for many years.  The cabana will be open this Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Unlike last year, we will not have dedicated recreation areas nor reservation requirements.  You can enter the cabana as in years past but we urge you to Check-in via a mobile device in order to minimize contact through the office check-in computer.  Refer to this link for check-in options.

Lighter COVID Restrictions

Even though vaccination levels have increased and covid infections rates have decreased, the current county rules still require staff and members to wear masks and continue to stay 6ft away from non household units for our type of establishment.  In order to have some level of safety control, we are NOT allowing members to bring guests at this time.  We'll continue to monitor the county rules as requirements change and adjust our policies accordingly.

For the time being, please wear masks when entering or exiting the cabana.  While in the pool, masks are NOT required.  As you settle in amongst tables and grass areas, you may remove your masks but keep them handy as you are expected to wear them as you move about.

It is up to you, the members, to abide by these rules - we will not have dedicated monitors as was required last year.  Along with that, you also define what the family units or groups/pods are or have been and practice the level of safety that you are more comfortable with i.e. continue wearing masks while in you group/pod or not.  However, we do ask that you not approach other groups/pods without a mask unless you are specifically invited to do so in that manner.

We will be providing disinfecting sprays and hand sanitizers at tables and other common areas for you to use at your discretion.  Chairs and BBQ grills will also accessible but we ask that you bring your own utensils (and of course clean the grills after each use).

Post School Re-Opening!

As in years past, we will be closed again on Tuesday and Wednesday but then re-open on Thursday at 3:00 PM after the SJUSD school year ends.  Please refer to the cabana website for updated opening/closing hours after this weekend.

We look forward to seeing our community enjoy the cabana club this season and regain some level of normalcy... physically and socially!

Best Regards,
